Before NASCAR champion driver Tony Stewart became a polarizing public figure, we partnered with him to support his racing team ownership. As a driver and team businessman, it was a great fit for Office Depot which we played off continually in our creative concepts. I served as creative support for all aspects of the sponsorship including on-site hospitality at track and retail as well as car paint scheme design, print collateral and promotional programming.
Photo sharing on social media and showing team spirit is a love for all sports fans across the country. We combined this insight to create the Mascot & me by utilizing the team's mascots in a free photo app that allowed users to choose from a variety of poses and place them into your own photos. We started with colleges and eventually added The Milwaukee Brewers Bernie Brewer and their famous racing sausages.
To further the cause, we took it on-site to game day tailgates to reward U.S. Cellular customers with a Mascot & Me tailgate takeover where brand ambassadors chose a customer in need of an upgrade. We gave them team branded swag including a mascot standee, tent canopies, tables, chairs, coolers, grills and more What better way to integrate all U.S. Cellular's sponsorship portfolio in a fun, engaging and successful way.
